Update from ODOT
The OR 217 Auxiliary Lanes Project is bustling with activity as crews work in multiple locations along the project area to improve safety and reduce bottlenecks. As you travel on the highway, you’ll continue to see construction of the new auxiliary lanes on the edge of the highway, sound walls nearing completion in several locations, drainage and other work in the median and improvements to the overpasses. Crews are also concentrating on work activities on the west side of the highway near SW Allen Boulevard and SW Denney Road in preparation for the future frontage road that will reduce merging conflicts. With so much activity, please slow down and be mindful of work zones to keep highway users and crews safe. Lanes may be shifted on the highway so pay close attention to new barriers and markings on the road. Plan ahead and check the project website at hwy217.org to know if there will be roadway or ramp closures along your route.
