Read Beyond the Beaten Path With Beaverton City Library This Summer!

JUNE 1 – AUGUST 15
Summer Reading for everyone begins Wednesday, June 1! Start counting the hours you read or listen to someone reading to you (including audiobooks) June 1 – Aug. 15. You can use a reading log from the library or keep track of time on your own.
Kids and teens will earn a free book for reading, listening, and doing family activities like going on a nature walk, building a pillow fort, and making a sidewalk chalk obstacle course. Read, Listen, and Learn for 15 hours, then stop by the library July 5 – Aug. 15 to choose your new book!
Adult Summer Reading: Read for Compassion
This summer, help us read for a good cause! Adult Summer Reading participants can Read for Compassion by tracking hours read from June 1 through Aug. 15 to help earn meals for youth through HomePlate Youth Services. For every 750 hours read collectively, the New Friends of the Beaverton City Library will donate a week’s worth of hot meals for a youth experiencing housing instability — up to 20 weeks’ worth of meals total. Adults ages 18 and older can submit their reading hours online at http://www.BeavertonLibrary.org or in person at the main library or the Murray Scholls branch. Each time you submit your hours read throughout the summer, your name will be entered in our weekly prize drawings. Help make an impact with every page turned!
