The Center for Mediation and Dialogue (CMD) serves residents of Washington County, east of Southwest 185th Avenue with free mediation, facilitation, and one-on-one conflict coaching. The manufactured home mediation program assists homeowners, residents, managers and park owners to resolve conflicts associated with the parks and living situations. More than 80 percent of cases that come to our center are resolved and the outcomes are decided by the participants.
Disputes and conflict are a natural part of life and mediation offers an opportunity to explore options, learn from the past, look to the future and generate solutions that meet everyone’s needs. Mediation is confidential, and free to participants. Some examples of issues for mediation include: interpersonal conflict, residents and manager negotiating implementation of new park rules, or transitions to move out of a park
without proceeding to file for eviction in court. In manufactured home parks, state law requires mediation for most conflicts that arise between residents and the park and the CMD is available to assist in both mandatory and voluntary mediation services.
