Highland Neighborhood Association Wins Forestry Award

Congratulations to the Highland Neighborhood Association Committee (NAC) for winning the 2022 Oregon Urban and Community Forestry Organization Award. Highland NAC is being recognized for planting dozens of trees throughout the neighborhood. These tree plantings are completely volunteer-led events. Community members not only help plant trees where they live, but also learn about the importance of trees to the urban environment, and build community as they work with their neighbors.
For close to three decades, Oregon Community Trees and the Oregon Department of Forestry have recognized individuals, communities, and organizations in the state that demonstrate outstanding accomplishments and leadership in urban and community forestry. The annual Oregon Urban & Community Forestry Awards Program celebrates Oregonians who understand that healthy urban and community forests foster thriving communities.
