Bridge Enhancement Projects Underway

Over the past several months the Public Works street crew has been working to upgrade pedestrian bridges throughout the city. One major change is in the deck surfaces from lumber to a textured composite material. The new decking has excellent drainage, improved traction, and requires significantly less maintenance than the lumber decking.
Three pedestrian bridges have been completed so far (the bridges on either side of the Southwest Davis Road vehicle bridge and the bridge on the north side of Southwest Barrows Road near Southwest 154th Avenue). The pedestrian bridge along the south side of the Southwest Broadway Street vehicle bridge will also be updated in the coming months.
