Capital Improvement Program Projects at a Glance

In an effort to keep the public informed about major construction going on around the city, this “Projects at a Glance” list will continue to be updated. This list highlights some of the major work happening in Beaverton but does not include all construction. The items in this list, often referred to as Capital Improvement Program Projects, are primarily large-scale construction, including road improvement and enhancements, expanded water and wastewater utility work, major improvements within city parks, and construction of city buildings.

Cooper Mountain Reservoir #2 and Associated Improvements Project

■ Pouring of the floor slab and walls for the 5.5-million-gallon prestressed concrete reservoir is complete. The final roof half is complete. Next steps will be shotcreting and circumferential wrapping. It is anticipated that the stockpiled dirt along Southwest Kemmer Road will remain until spring when dry weather returns.

■ The Operations building structure is in place to include the recently installed roof. The interior piping, electrical and other gear are currently underway.

■ Well drilling and development of the ASR Well No. 7 is complete. The pump is under fabrication and should be installed in the next few months. Construction of the ASR Mechanical Building and Booster Pump Station Building is currently underway.

■ Construction of the off-site 24-inch drinking water transmission main on Southwest Kemmer Road is complete. Final paving and striping of Southwest Kemmer Road were completed in June.

Aquifer Storage and Recovery Well No. 5 (ASR5)

■ Majority of all trade permits acquired.

■ Flow to waste tank installation is complete.

■ Installation of buried conduit and electrical vaults continues.

■ Excavating building foundation and footing continues.

■ Underslab electrical, plumbing and pipe encasement continues.

Western Avenue Street Improvements / City 16-Inch Waterline / Willamette Water Supply System 48-Inch Transmission Waterline

■ Current Status: In construction with anticipated completion in Spring 2023.

■ Franchise utility undergrounding between Southwest Beaverton-Hillsdale Highway and Southwest Allen Boulevard is more than 50 percent complete.

■ Construction includes a 16-inch City of Beaverton waterline within the Western Avenue project limits. For more information regarding the waterline, please visit the website

■ Construction of a 48-inch waterline within the Western Avenue project limits is owned by the Willamette Water Supply System Commission (WWSS). This pipeline is referred to as the Metzger Pipeline (MPE 1.1). For more information regarding the WWSS MPE 1.1 project, please visit the website

Erickson Trunk Sewer and Water System – Phase 2

■ 990 feet of eight-inch and 190 feet of six-inch ductile iron waterline has been installed on the east side of the Central Park Condos near the pedestrian pathway and 31 new water services have been installed.

■ 740 feet of 21-inch sewer line installed beneath Southwest 5th Street and then south along the east side of the Central Park Condos up to Southwest 6th Street.

■ 18-inch sewer line installation continues along the pedestrian pathway through the Central Park Condos and Beaverton Lodge up to Southwest 10th Street.

■ Sewer installation methods included open trench and jack and bore.

■ 12” waterline installation in Erickson Street this fall/winter.

■ Construction completion date expected by end of April 2022.
