Capital Improvement Program Projects at a Glance 

In an effort to keep the public informed on major construction going on around the city, this “Projects at a Glance” list will continue to be updated. This list highlights some of the major work happening in Beaverton but does not include all construction. The items in this list, often referred to as Capital Improvement Projects, are primarily large-scale construction, including road improvement and enhancements, expanded water and wastewater utility work, major improvements within city parks, and construction of city buildings. 

Aquifer Storage and Recovery Well No. 5 (ASR5) 

Library Fountain Improvement Project 

  • Installation of new fountain jets is complete 
  • New pump house, interior finishing and equipment installation is complete 
  • New fountain splash pad paver installation is complete 
  • Unveiling planned for September

Erickson Trunk Sewer & Water System Improvements Phase 2 

  • Landis and Landis Construction, LLC has been awarded the low-bid contract 
  • Construction is underway now through April 2022 
  • Initial construction work will include 
  • 8-inch waterline installation near the pedestrian pathway from Southwest 9th Street to north of Southwest 7th Street 
  • Next, the 21-inch sewer line will be installed in Southwest 5th Street starting at Southwest Erickson Avenue/Southwest 5th Street and heading to the Central Park Condos

Western Avenue Street Improvements / City 16-Inch Waterline / Willamette Water Supply System 48-Inch Transmission Waterline 

  • Current Status: In construction, with anticipated completion in spring 2023

  • Construction includes a 16-inch city waterline within the Western Avenue project limits. For more information regarding the waterline, please visit: www.OurReliableWater.org/mpe 
  • Construction of a 48-inch waterline within the Western Avenue project limits is owned by the Willamette Water Supply System Commission (WWSS Commission). This pipeline is referred to as the Metzger Pipeline (MPE 1.1). For more information regarding the WWSS MPE 1.1 project, please visit: http://www.OurReliableWater.org/mpe.
