Attend a Virtual Meeting or Open House to Learn about Boards and Commissions

During the month of September, boards and commissions will be devoting a portion of their virtual meeting to talk about their unique role within the city, their current priorities, future projects, and anything else prospective applicants might want to know about who their board or commission is and what they do. There will be an opportunity for Q&A from attendees. This is your opportunity to meet current members and learn about each board or commission from the comfort of your couch!

Note: Some boards meet at specific times during the year instead of monthly. If you are interested in a board that doesn’t have a September meeting, email with your questions or to be connected with the board’s staff liaison.

Online Open House for Questions

Unsure of which board you might be interested in applying to? Want to talk to someone about their experience as a board member? During the month of September at the below dates and times, the city’s Public Involvement Coordinator (who was previously a member of the Beaverton Committee for Community Involvement) will be hosting an open “office hour” via Zoom for members of the community to stop by with questions and have a more in-depth conversation about the city’s boards and commissions, the application and appointment process, or anything else related to this involvement opportunity.

Depending on the week, other current board members may be on the line to answer questions about their specific board or commission. If these time slots don’t work for you, but you would like to video chat about your questions, please email to set up a time.
