Age Cafe

Join the conversation! Discuss relevant topics related to aging, growth, and older adulthood with friends, neighbors and other members of our community. All adults welcome. Co-sponsored by Washington County Disability, Aging & Veterans Services and Viva Village. 

Inclusive Reading Group 

Saturdays, July 10 & Aug. 14 | 3:30-4 PM 

Join us for a reading group for adults in our disability community. We will read together and choose a topic for our next session. No preparation required; all reading materials will be provided virtually during the program. 

Death Cafe 

Saturday, July 17 & Friday, Aug. 13 | 11 AM – 12 PM 

Talk about death. Learn about life. Death and dying aren’t often talked about but they touch us all. Join us to explore these themes in a relaxed, safe atmosphere. Dessert care: Death Cafe is part death, part cake! Feel free to bring a comforting goodie and/or cup of tea with you while you participate.

Get ready to travel through stories and art! As Globetrotters, we read stories about kids from around the world. This summer, we will also celebrate artwork and artists from different cultures! At the end of the program, there will be an art project that you can do at home inspired by their stories. What will you discover and create? End of Summer Reading Bonanza 

Celebrate the end of Summer Reading with colorful art projects and activities, and share the best part of your summer! All ages. 

At Main, Sunday, Aug. 8, 2-4 PM: Meet us on the library lawn! Masks are required  

and stations will be set up to ensure social distancing. 

Virtual, Thursday, Aug. 12, 2-3 PM: Program supplies will be available; after registering, please wait for an email about when to pick them up. 

At Murray Scholls, Sunday, Aug. 15, 2-4 PM: Meet us near the top of the stairs near the patio and lawn that is adjacent to the northeast corner of the Murray Scholls branch. Masks are required and stations will be set up to ensure social distancing. 

Felt Board Stories (virtual)

Make your own pizza box felt board and enjoy a virtual storytime to get ideas to play with at home! Program supplies will be available; after registering, please wait for an email about when to pick them up. 

Events for Teens  

CREATE: Concrete Leaves at Main 

Wednesday, July 14 | 2-3 PM | Grades 6-12 

Using real leaves for the impression, cast your own concrete leaf! After drying at home, you can keep its natural color or paint it. All materials provided! This program will be held on the front lawn of the library. Masks are required and stations will be set up to ensure social distancing.
