City Plants 40 Trees in Partnership With Friends of Trees

City staff and the Friends of Trees, a local nonprofit, planted 40 trees in the Royal Woodlands neighborhood in recognition of Arbor Day. The number of volunteers was restricted due to COVID-19 safety protocols and residents were invited to enjoy alternative Arbor Day celebrations. Find out more at alternative-celebration-ideas.cfm.

Mayor Lacey Beaty declared April to be Arbor Month and highlighted that the city has planted and maintained more than 7,000 trees and more than 30,000 street trees. The city has also been recognized by the National Arbor Day Foundation as a Tree City USA for the last 27 years.
