Capital Improvement Program Projects at a Glance  

In an effort to keep the public informed on major construction going on around the city, this “Projects at a Glance” list will continue to be updated. This list highlights some of the major work happening in Beaverton but does not include all construction. The items in this list, often referred to as Capital Improvement Projects, are primarily large-scale construction, including road improvement and enhancements, expanded water and wastewater utility work, major improvements within city parks, and construction of city buildings.  

Library Fountain Improvement Project  

■  A concrete foundation for the new pump house is being constructed  

■ Inspection and repairs for the existing surge tank are being performed  

■ Utilities are being installed throughout the site

Allen Boulevard/92nd Avenue Shared Use Path  

■ Current Status: Developing 60 percent design with right-of-way acquisition anticipated for summer/fall 2021 

 ■ Construction anticipated spring/ summer 2022

Laurelwood Avenue Sidewalk Project 

■  Current Status: Developing 60 percent design with right-of-way acquisition anticipated for summer/fall 2021

Aquifer Storage and Recovery Well No. 5 (ASR5)  

■ Portland General Electric transformer installation was anticipated in mid-April, as of press time 

■ Demolition of Sorrento and Aquifer Storage and Recovery No. 1 Pump Stations was anticipated in mid to late April, as of press time  

■ Aquifer Storage flow to waste tank installation is anticipated in early June

Erickson Trunk Sewer and Water System – Phase 2  

■ Phase 1 construction is substantially complete  

■ Final design plans anticipated to be complete in April as of press time; advertising to bid will follow  

■ Start of construction for Phase 2 anticipated this summer

Western Avenue Street Improvement  

This is also part of a partnership project with the Willamette Water Supply Program, which includes a 48-inch waterline (MPE 1.1) as well as a City of Beaverton 16-Inch waterline within the project limits 

■ Current Status: Opening Bids for construction   

■ Construction anticipated to begin in May

Cooper Mountain Reservoir #2 and Associated Improvements Project  

■ Pouring of the floor slab for the 5 .5-million-gallon prestressed concrete reservoir and cast-in-place concrete vault is complete. The wall pour for the vault is currently underway. The first wall pour for the reservoir was expected toward the end of April as of press time.  

■ Well drilling and development of the Aquifer Storage and Recovery Well No. 7 well is complete. Excavation for the ASR mechanical building and Booster Pump Station building is currently underway.  

■ Construction of the off-site 24-inch drinking water transmission main on Southwest Kemmer Road and a majority of the on-site piping is complete. Final paving on Southwest Kemmer Road is scheduled for this spring.
