Family Promise of Beaverton just celebrated its two-year mark supporting Beaverton families experiencing homelessness. This nonprofit is one of a kind as it supports three to five families with children every night of the year through partnerships with 13 host sites in the community. The focus is on transitioning families experiencing homelessness to permanent housing as well as supporting families with a variety of services. In 2019, the organization served 14 families in their program, providing 3,740 bed nights, and prevented seven families from entering homelessness through diversion programs.
Family Promise is also celebrating their recent purchase of a ‘Day House’ located in central Beaverton. With the location of the Day House, services are closer to public transportation and several parks, and are more easily accessible to other families in the community. Family Promise can also provide needed supplies and resources, including diapers, baby wipes, personal hygiene items, etc.
If you and your family are at risk of losing your housing, please contact Family Promise of Beaverton at 971-217-894. To learn more about volunteer opportunities and donation needs, please visit http://www.familypromise.org.
